I'm a big fan of May, and all of his shows really. While everyone loves to hear Clarkson growl and see the jowls flap while he's racing an Ariel, May is the true wit. Sadly I think Hammond contributes very little to the mix, other than allegedly liking American motors and being the setup for jokes about short people and well-maintained teeth. May's shows have always had an edge that Top Gear often lacks.
From the moment May appeared on Top Gear, dressed in his outdated suit and one of his hundreds of floral patterned shirts, and started bicycling to the garage where he keeps his Rolls Royce, you knew the guy was charming and very funny.
